Beaulieu Hospital Walkthrough — NMRIH 2

Beaulieu Hospital is the vertical interior Scenario map: Manhattan, corridor sightlines, and a finale built around morgue Bio-Scanners with a courtyard rope extract. Hospitals look like medical jackpots and then charge you for every open door. Armageddon 1.0 moved ventilation parts away from the van, closed exploitable geometry, gave security nodes spatialized beeps, and cleaned a pile of collision and navigation bugs. The map still kills squads that treat every ward as a loot tour.

Start from Maps and Objectives if Critical versus optional POIs are still fuzzy. Rehearse wings in Solo Mode so the first online run is not a permadeath anatomy lesson.

Opening: courtyard, van, and ladders

Pick the lock on the courtyard ladder gate early, before infected density rises. While the decontamination truck finishes its first cycle, lower the ladders to the North and South Wing third floors. Those shortcuts matter once the morgue opens and you need a path that is not the main stair meat grinder.

A strong loot pocket sits in the alley behind the decontamination truck: follow the alley, turn left, enter the open window. South Wing from the street can yield multiple small equipment cases with medical supplies—grab them on the way in, not after someone has already started a noisy node hunt.

Second-story falls are survivable if a floor collapses into panic. That is an escape valve, not a travel plan.

Security nodes and audio

Hospital security nodes now beep in space. Stop sprinting and listen. 1.0 also improved alarm and node-destruction audio. A node you can hear is a node you do not have to search every identical hallway for. Assign one listener and one cover player; do not send all eight into a ward because a ping looked interesting.

Responders should no longer interact with bodies in wards that are irrelevant to the live objective. If a corpse is not part of the current task, leave it. Curiosity in Beaulieu is how crawlers eat ankles.

Zombies pathing through broken glass and a leftover debug keypad label were fixed. Trust windows a little more than you did in Early Access, and ignore any stray debug text if a hotfix missed a corner.

Morgue scanners and rooftop insurance

The known finale is Morgue Bio-Scanners. Before you hit the security panel that opens the morgue, lower the rooftop ladder in case the extract uses the roof. That bypass skips most of the infected stack and leaves the fight at the helicopter landing zone. If you instead take the morgue stairwell to the roof, prefer the left-side narrow passage—it funnels better than the wide stair.

Scanner rules match the rest of the game: a fully infected host pauses progress; more living Responders in the field speed it up. Do not bring a turning teammate into the beam. Pills buy about five minutes; Gene Therapy is the real cure—see How to Treat Infection.

Ventilation parts were pulled slightly back from the van so the interact is less of a clown car. Still clear the truck perimeter before anyone starts the minigame.

Extract and collapse rules

Courtyard rope extraction is available on this map. Rope beats received a little extra time in the global 1.0 pass, but they are still not a coffee break. Move as a unit. If the roster is already at three living Responders, early hatch rules on How to Extract can be smarter than a heroic morgue restart.

Melee owns these corridors. Wide charged bats after the 1.0 nerf are worse here than a hatchet or fire axe with a shove plan—read Melee Combat. Firearms are for runners in long wards and for the landing zone, not for every shambler in a curtain bay.

Roles

  • Listener owns node audio and compass text.
  • Breacher opens locked gates and watches the van.
  • Two melee anchors hold wing intersections.
  • Medic stays one room off the scanner so a grab does not pause the field.
  • Ladder owner is a real job: third-floor and rooftop ladders win extracts.

Co-op Teamwork matters more in hospitals than on rural maps because a single scream fills three floors.

First-clear advice

Beginner or Normal, expendable Responders, voice on (hold E). Hard and Nightmare lengthen codes and thicken specials. Unstuck exists for true geometry traps; 1.0 removed several exploits, so “I always stand here” may now be a death box.

Beaulieu Hospital is not a loot dungeon with a helicopter attached. It is a sound map. Hunt the beeps, drop the ladders early, scan the morgue with a clean team, and leave on the rope before someone opens one more ward “for kits.”

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Responders preparing for the next deployment.

What is the Beaulieu Hospital finale?

Morgue Bio-Scanners, with courtyard rope extraction available. Lower the rooftop ladder before you open the morgue in case extract uses the roof.

How do I find security nodes faster after 1.0?

They now have spatialized beeps. Stop and listen instead of clearing every identical ward.

When should I drop the wing ladders?

During the first decontamination truck wait. Third-floor North and South ladders become shortcuts once the morgue opens.

Can I loot every hospital ward?

No. 1.0 even blocks interactions with bodies in irrelevant wards. Loot on the route; do not tour the building.

Is Solo Mode useful for this map?

Yes. Learn wing names, ladder locations, and scanner rooms without permadeath, then return online for XP.
