No More Room in Hell 2 Lewiston Walkthrough
Manage Maine traversal fatigue, then finish the boat house or trainyard extract without splitting the squad.
Lewiston is the long-walk Scenario map: Androscoggin County, Maine, evening light, and a deployment that punishes stamina waste more than any single room. You will cover cemeteries, storage, a chapel, a library, and a train tunnel before a finale that is either the Boat House or the Trainyard. Armageddon 1.0 blocked several unintended shortcuts, retuned the train tunnel puzzle, added a Bio-Scanner to open the chapel when you retrieve hard drives, extended the library upload, and now requires powered gates before the finale area will open.
Read Maps and Objectives for POI grammar, then use this page for Lewiston-specific pressure. Solo Mode is the honest way to learn the cemetery roofs before you donate a Responder to a wrong turn.
What Lewiston is trying to do to you
The map teaches movement and extraction planning. Constant jogging creates late-match fatigue; extraction talk that starts “when we see the boat” is six minutes too late. Bring stamina discipline from Melee Combat and refuse to split for every distant barn. Eight-player cross-play helps only if the group walks as a group.
1.0 closed pathways that used to let organized squads skip large chunks of the map. If a YouTube route from 2025 jumps a fence that now has collision, believe the live geometry.
Chapel, cemetery, and hard drives
When the deployment asks you to retrieve hard drives, expect a Bio-Scanner before the chapel opens. Scanners pause if a fully turned infected steps into the field and speed up when multiple living Responders stand inside. Do not drag an untreated teammate into the beam—treat them first with pills or How to Treat Infection protocol.
Cemetery travel south from the chapel is safer on mausoleum rooftops. Jump the stair railings to get up. Ground-level paths look shorter and collect more runners. Food Storage body-recovery rooms only hide corpses where body bags are visible—crack the door, check for bags, and leave if the room is a dry infected nest.
Library upload and train tunnel
The library hard-drive upload hold is slightly longer after 1.0. That extra time is enough for a silent lobby to collapse. Assign an operator, a doorway blunt, and a rear watcher. Do not start the upload while two players are still shopping shelves.
The train tunnel puzzle received art and zombie-flow work so the space reads more honestly. Treat it as a coordinated push, not a sprint. Vaults that used to fail out of Lewiston windows were fixed—if you need to leave a house, windows are more trustworthy than they were in Early Access.
Finale gates, boat, and trainyard
Finale-area gates must be powered before they open. Budget a generator or power beat and a perimeter. Starting the finale while the gates are still dark is how pubs stand in the open and argue.
Known finales:
- Boat House — water-adjacent extract pressure, limited retreat, and at least one silly cat-related easter egg nobody has fully documented. Fight the extract, not the meme.
- Trainyard — geometry around the train extract was lightly adjusted; late players should still see gates and zombies correctly after the cinematic fixes.
There is no rope extraction on Lewiston. If the roster drops to three living Responders, use early extract rules on How to Extract instead of forcing a boat you cannot crew.
Roles and difficulty
Lewiston wants a navigator, two melee anchors, a medic, and someone who can stand still on uploads without emptying a rifle into walkers. Marksman value exists on long approaches, but ammo will not refill if five people main rifles. See Best Builds.
Beginner uses timed respawns and is the right first clear. Normal uses objective-based respawns. Hard and Nightmare scale scripted objective density and lengthen codes. A compass bug that mislabeled an objective was fixed in 1.0—still read the live log, not memory.
Unstuck (30-second pause-menu hold, five-minute cooldown language in the launch overview) exists because Lewiston had real trap spots. Use it if you are actually stuck, not to skip a powered gate.
Session plan
- Loot one nearby named site, then meet the squad.
- Clear the active Critical path—do not tour every farm.
- Handle chapel scanner and cemetery roofs with a full fireteam.
- Upload in the library only after stamina and pills are stable.
- Power the finale gates, then commit to boat or train as a unit.
Lewiston does not kill you with one clever room. It kills you with distance, late fatigue, and a finale you started after the squad had already spent itself. Walk like you intend to leave.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Responders preparing for the next deployment.
What finales does Lewiston have?
Two known finales: Boat House and Trainyard. Neither uses rope extraction.
What did Armageddon change on Lewiston?
Blocked skip paths, retuned the train tunnel, added a chapel Bio-Scanner on hard-drive retrieval, extended the library upload, and required powered finale gates.
How do I cross the cemetery safely?
Use mausoleum rooftops when traveling south from the chapel. Jump the stair railings to get onto the roofs.
Why won’t the finale gates open?
In 1.0 they must be powered first. Complete the power beat and hold a perimeter before you commit.
Should beginners play Lewiston first?
Only after Training Grounds and a shorter map. Lewiston’s length punishes new stamina habits. Solo Mode helps you learn roofs without permadeath.
